Start from the best copy you have
Upload the original file, not a screenshot or a copy resent through a chat app. Less compression in the input means fewer enlarged artifacts.
Use 2x for medium-sized images
If the picture is already decent, 2x is often enough and keeps the file manageable. Save 4x for small images and large prints.
Do not expect lost text to return
Upscaling sharpens what is there but cannot recover details that were never captured, such as tiny blurred text or a distant license plate.
